Friday in Franklin County: Carol’s Flowerbox

When my husband and I got married five years ago, there was no question where our flowers would come from…it would be from Carol’s Flower Box in Hampton!  Owner Carol Schnabel has been in business since purchasing the business from the previous owner in the summer of 2010.  Since then, she’s made it her own and even moved locations.

Carol’s Flower Box

So, what is Carol’s Flower Box?  It is a full-service floral shop which includes fresh cut flowers, silk flowers, funeral items (stones, wind chimes, candles, angels, and more).  Carol will create a custom cemetery saddle or containers as well as delivering them to the cemetery for you.  In her store, she also carries numerous gift items such as jewelry, scarves, wine, candy bouquets, balloons and more!  She also provides delivery to all of Franklin County as well as extended areas!  And if all of that isn’t enough, she also offers Teleflora service for out of town and out of state orders!

While Carol stays busy with a little bit of everything, she says her most popular services are flowers for weddings, funerals, proms, formal, and every day bouquets for that someone special!  And let me tell you, her flowers do not disappoint!

What may suprise people the most about Carol and her flower shop?  She’s worked on Christmas Day for her customers!  She says that although her hours are 9-5 Monday through Friday and 9-Noon on Saturday, she works all times and days!  She actually works 9-7 most days along with weekends and holidays…whatever it takes to accomodate her customers.

Owning Your Own Business

When I asked Carol what the best thing was about owning her own business is that she gets to do her own decorating and ordering her own items.  Most of all though is hearing how everyone loves their work!  She also loves how Hampton has supported her, from day one.  In return, Carol’s Flower Box tries her best to support the community whenever possible. She also loves to talk to people and knowing their names.  It makes her job so much more personal.

Carol feels Franklin County is unique because it is made up of so many small town people and everyone are neighbors.  She loves to see how everyone works together and supports each other.  These ideals are very important to her business and all small businesses!

So, what does the future hold for Carol and her Flower Box?  She hopes to continue to add to her business along with expanding online. In the meantime, make sure to stop by Carols’ Flower Blox on main street in Hampton.  You won’t be disappointed that you did!  And of course, don’t forget to tell her that Katy sent you!
