Garden Update: 7/18/2016

We’re back for another garden update which means it’s been two weeks already! Those two week periods seem to be going faster and faster as the summer rolls along! I don’t have a lot of words today, just a lot of pictures for you, so I hope you enjoy!

garden 1The North bed is doing great!  The Tickseed that I purchased from Natural Plus Nursery this spring is blooming like crazy (the red & yellow flower).  The phlox are finally in full bloom and they are some of my favorite as they are so vibrant!

garden 2The dragon-leafed begonia are growing well and filling in my planters box and window boxes quite nicely!

garden 4The wild bed is full of color with one-eyed Susan, Hollyhocks, day lilies, and a few phlox peaking through!

garden 5I can’t believe how the Coleus have filled in the lower raised bed.  I think those will be making an appearance next year!  I will say that I’m rather disappointed in the Red Threads that I purchased and planted in the upper raised bed…they haven’t filled out quite like I had hoped!

garden 6The lily bed has been blooming like crazy for several weeks now and I just love it!  I have a few more to bloom and I can’t remember what color they are so I’m excited for them to pop open!  My miniature rose bush has been on it’s second round of blooms for over a week now and recently, my large rose bush joined in and opened two beautiful rose buds!

Finally, our vegetable garden!  We’ve been eating green beans for a couple weeks and have actually planted two new rows where we had picked our carrots.  We have harvested a few onions, one hill of potatoes, and one cucumber.  The tomatoes are “almost there” along with the peppers growing like crazy and my broccoli finally started heads!

I hope you enjoy following along every two weeks as much as I enjoy giving you a tour!  What’s growing in your garden right now?  I’d love to hear about it, so feel free to comment below!
