I Live in A World…

I live in a world where my house in full of boys!  Husbands, step-sons, friends…all boys!

I live in a world of the colors blue, red, black, and gray!  I don’t buy white clothes for my two step-sons…that’s asking for some sort of punishment when it comes to laundry!

I live in a world where bodily functions are considered funny, discussed, & replicated (as hard as I try to curb those things)!

I live in a world where Storage Wars, Shipping Wars, Fast & Loud, and Motor City Masters are the only things on my TV.

I live in a world that involves balls…all the time: footballs, soccer balls, baseballs, and typically me, juggling lots of balls at one time.

I live in a world of stinky stuff!  Stinky clothes, stinky football gloves, stinky shoes, stinky bathrooms.

I live in a world where if I put on something other than jeans & a t-shirt, I’m asked why I’m so dressed up.

I live in a world that when I announce it’s family picture time, I get groans and eye rolls (from all three!!)

I live in a world where I’m “Katy”.  Nothing else, to those two boys, I’m just Katy!

I live in a world where I have a husband who has chosen to me to help raise his boys, trusts me with the boys, encourages me to have a relationship with the boys.

I live in a world where I have two amazing step-sons who have chosen to let me into their lives!  Let me be one of their biggest cheerleaders!  They tell me about their school day, they tell me when someone has been mean to them!

I live in a world where it just isn’t right if Katy doesn’t make the chip casserole & lava cakes!

I live in a world where every once in awhile yet, I get asked to read books during bath time!

I live in a world where I’m asked to help with school projects because I have all the “good supplies”!

I live in a world that gets big grins when I tell the boys “good job” or “way to go”!

I live in a world where I’m blessed!  Blessed to have the love of 3 boys who love me for me!  I wouldn’t change the world I live in for anything!

  1. Ditto to what Donna wrote. You live in a world that is a wonderful world and it shines through you in every way. Yay for boys! I “lived” with that same configuration for a long time and I would not have traded it for anything.
