Strawberry Watermelon Spritzer – 2 Ways

This recipe for a Strawberry Watermelon Spritzer is not  fussy or complicated!  But what it is, is perfect for a summertime deck party!  If you know me by now, you know that I don’t like long and complicated recipes!  I don’t have time…I’m a busy woman with a family and multiple jobs!  So, I like recipes that I can throw together really quick!

Life Right Now!

I know my posting has been sporadic at best the last few months!  You’ve seen lots of pictures of my garden on my Facebook or Instagram pages and that is taking a lot of my time!  We vacationed in Branson as a family again!  (Check out one of our stops, the World’s Largest Toy Museum).  I also had a couple hectic weeks with lots of training and classes for my full-time job, so to be honest…I barely know if I’ve been coming or going!  What little time I’ve had at home, it’s been consumed by garden work: picking green beans, cucumbers, watering flowers, etc.  So, I’ve had this drink recipe in my pocket for almost a month now and am just getting around to getting it to you all!

The Recipe

This recipe came about becuase my in-laws were coming to stay overnight at our house and my mom and step-dad were coming for supper!  We were having a deck grill-out and of course, I thought we needed a cocktail!  There were kids present, so we also needed something that they could drink!  I looked in the cupboards to see what alcohol we had and came up with this!

Strawberry Watermelon Spritzer – 2 Ways
Recipe Type: Drinks
Author: Katy Flint
Prep time:
Total time:
Ingredients
  • 1, 2qt powdered drink mix, Watermelon-Strawberry flavored
  • 1 qt water
  • 2 liter lemon-lime soda
  • 1 cup Strawberry Schnapps
Instructions
  1. Mix the drink mix and 1 quart of water in a pitcher.
  2. Fill a serving pitcher with ice
  3. Pour 1/2 of the flavored drink in the pitcher
  4. Add the 1 cup Strawberry Schnapps
  5. Fill the rest of the pitcher with the soda

Cook’s Notes

There are very few notes for this because it’s so stinking simple!  Now, I advertised this as a spritzer in two ways, so obviously…the second form is by omitting the schnapps!  This makes it kid friendly!  My guests raved about this spritzer and said that it was light, refreshing, and didn’t have a strong alcohol flavor!  They drained the pitcher and I call that success!  Try it out and let me know what you think!
