Our Favorite Things…Branson Style

I can hardly believe that it’s been over 2 weeks since we’ve been from our family vacation in Branson! I swear the older I get the faster time goes! But, I digress…we had such a fantastic time in Branson and all four of us have actually commented, “I’ll go back!”  So, what were our favorite parts about Branson?  Here they are…and in no particular order!

Top of the Rock/Lost Canyon Tours

A friend of mine recommended the Lost Canyon Tours at Top of the Rock to me and so I had to look into!  You are able to go on self-guided tours along their path with a golf cart through the canyon and caves and my interest was peaked.  This is something right up the boys’ alley and it didn’t sound so bad to me either!  They weren’t wrong and neither was I!  Being outside and closer to nature (away from the hustle and bustle of the city is fantastic).  Plus the views aren’t too shabby either!

Titanic Museum

This museum was right up my alley!  I am a history nerd, so I was very excited about this adventure!  Another friend had said it was fantastic and she definitely didn’t lie either.  The tour is great because it not only has lots of artifacts, but you can also proceed at your own pace.  This museum was definitely more the speed of myself and R, but T enjoyed it too.  I will caution on taking younger children as it’s a lot of listening, reading, and being more on the quiet side!  But, it was great and I honestly would like to visit it again when I can take even more time!

Fishing on Table Rock Lake

Fishing is one of R’s favorite activities.  T has fished Table Rock Lake on a previous trip and when we decided on Branson, he knew instantly that he wanted to take the boys!  I graciously bowed out of this excursion and enjoyed some quiet “me” time and an adventure to Stone Hill Winery!  However, the boys VERY MUCH enjoyed their trip!  They worked with Branson Guided Fishing Trips and they raved about their guide and the experience as a whole!  They would like to go back and fish Lake Taneycomo next time!  Because it’s a “catch fish guaranteed” experience, it’s great for all ages as they don’t get bored with waiting for the fish to bite!  If your kiddos have the itch to fish, they highly recommend.

Wild World

Wild World was not on our original itinerary and never really saw anything about it prior to the trip.  However, R looked through a lot of material once we arrived and thought it looked pretty neat.  He loves aquariums and they both love zoos and the like.  So, of course we added it to our adventures and are so happy that we did!  Between viewing all the different amphibians and other wild life to feeding the Koi and watching others feed turtles, dingoes, and more…we weren’t disappointed!

Branson Ferris Wheel

In case you didn’t know, the Branson Ferris Wheel is the former Navy Pier Ferris Wheel.  It was relocated to Branson by Tracks Family Fun Parks this past winter!  As soon as I saw that this was happening, I knew it had to go on our list!  While two of the guys were hesitant, they decided to give it a try anyway and we all thought the views were spectacular!  The gondola type ride makes you feel safe and secure as you tower above the Branson sights.  And what a sight it is!  Not only that, but once it’s dark, it provides a electrifying light display for all to enjoy!  We all have the Ferris Wheel on our return trip list as well, but to experience this adventure at night!

Truthfully, there is so much we could talk about and so many great things to do in Branson, but these are definitely our favorites!  We encourage you to plan a trip to Branson for your family because we know you won’t be disappointed!

  1. Your vacation looks like it was amazing~ so glad you had a great time! It’s always fun following the Flint family when they take to the road for their summer vacation.

  2. Looks like you had a wonderful time! Since you liked the Lost Canyon Tours, you might want to visit Dogwood Canyon on your Branson venture. It is beautiful and the tram tour includes a visit to an elk and buffalo preserve.
